it's the most...
WONDERFUL TIME of the year! The newness of Spring - going outside and "living" again. I forgot how wonderful it felt. How important fresh air was!! I took Jorja for a walk (or a wee-wee as she'd call it!) and we barbequed for supper. The kids thoroughly enjoyed being outside today. The boys got super muddy playing football, riding their bikes and exploring the "new" yard. Jorja just loved being outside...watching them play and exploring a little herself. Here are just a few pics from today...
This picture makes me laugh. She can be so goofy!!! And she's actually letting me take her picture again. So nice of her to not "charge" the camera every time she sees me pull it out!! :)

last day...
for Rec. hockey. Brett had a great year and turned into quite the little hockey fanatic! Always setting personal goals...always skating hard...always eager to get on the ice. We were incredibly proud of his determination and the skill he demonstrated on the ice. (he's the one in the white)

And so, because of his love for this game, it was very exciting to see him score 3 goals today. :) He was pretty thrilled too! Here are a few of his biggest fans! (and a big thanks to everyone who came out to watch him...it meant a lot to him (and us too! :)

Four more months...
until this little girl is TWO!!! Where has the time gone? (And why do we always say that???) But for now, here are some pictures I took of her today to celebrate her 20th month of life! She sure doesn't sit still for long! And there is "lamb-y" right beside her. She just loves her stuffed friends!
And then she crawls up the stairs and waves "bye-bye." It is soooo hard to get good pictures of her these days! :( Hopefully that will change in a few months. The boys were always such great "posers" for me....hmmm...

Reminiscing...
makes me smile! And so I've been looking through some old albums I took out of storage and decided to scrapbook some of those memories. I've often thought about the things that I think Brett, Lucas and Jorja will remember as they get older, and I've compared them to some of my own experiences. Just putting things into perspective, I suppose. Like, should we take the kids to DisneyWorld? Well, my parents took us when I was in grade 8 (leaving Arlene to be only a year old) and those are great memories for me (not so great for her though!) and so we'll wait a few years so that Jorja will have those memories too...
And it's not just the big trips and stuff that have left an imprint on my life...it's the little stuff too...dad playing games with us, mom taking us for portraits at Robinson's in Morden (it was a bit of a drive from where we lived then) and stopping for coffee at John's Bakery, motorcycle rides with dad (I sat behind dad while Rod sat on the gas tank!), having my cousin over for sleepovers after gatherings, "pizza pop" night - when they were a total novelty and mom would put four of them in the oven (one for each of us) and we'd eat them with a paper towel wrapped around the bottom, family camping, church on Sunday and begging to go to a restaurant for lunch after. So many memories that make me smile. I hope you're smiling too!
The little stuff was/is even more important than the "big" stuff in so many ways because it is in the everyday. Here is one layout I did today during my moments of reminiscing...hope you like it.

Outside!
They actually asked to play outside...it wasn't even MY idea! I was thrilled! And even more thrilling was getting a few "non-inside" pictures! I am sooooo ready for Spring! :) These pics were taken yesterday when it was an okay day to be outside but today the temps. are rising and snow is melting...makes me a happy girl!

less than ideal...
driving conditions this past weekend!! Bevin and I went to Grand Forks, ND for the weekend. I think if we had realized what the roads were really like we would have opted to stay home. But we had our reservation, our childcare all lined up (my parents were wonderful enough to stay at our place with the kids!!!) THANK YOU!!!! :) and so we went.

We had a good time...relaxing...shopping...and going out for meals just the two of us. Going away is great...but honestly...coming home is wonderful. This is what coming home looked like for us! The kids were happy to see us and loved the "treats" we brought home for them!
